DE Streaming - Make your lessons rock!
United Streaming is now known as Discovery Education Streaming. Among the offerings from DE are 5,000 full-length videos segmented into 41,000 concept-level video clips tied directly to state standards, virtual labs, interactives, audio files, lesson plans, an interactive historical calendar, an assignment maker, a quiz maker, and a writing prompt builder. More than 150 publishers contribute to Discovery Education. You receive an account after attending an introductory session.
NetTrekker – FREE to Cleveland City Schools employees and students - If you wish to use NetTrekker from home or school, just visit the website while at school and click “Register”. Complete the required information, choosing a username and password of your choosing and you will be guided through the steps of registration. You will be ask to enter a Registration Key, which you may get by emailing mbuckner@clevelandschools.org . You will, after setting up your account, be able to access NetTrekker from anywhere on the Web. You will find fast and easy access to high quality, pre-screened, and educationally relevant K-12 online resources that align with each state’s academic standards.

BrainPOP - FREE to Cleveland City Schools - What is it? "BrainPop produces educational animated movies for grades K-12 to explain concepts in a voice and visual style that is accessible and entertaining to both children and adults. Each day 3 million students watch BrainPOP movies and exchange messages with a dynamic cast of five characters who lead users through related activities on the web site - interactive quizzes and games, comic strips and experiments." Teacher Challenge - Participants in Teacher Challenge are stepped through weekly tasks that increase their skills while collaborating with others in the global community. This is a FREE 30-day professional development challenge hosted by Edublogs, and is open to anyone who wants to increase their skills. Participants may complete any or all of the tasks as they like in any order. There is no pressure and participants may join or leave any challenge at any time.

Each 30 days new challenges will be offered. Examples include: 30 days to kick start your Blogging; 30 days to get your students blogging; 30 days to a whole new PLN; 30 days to use the best of the Web's free resources; 30 days to ensuring privacy and student safety on the Web; 30 days to increased parental involvement.
4Teachers - FREE - What is it? "4Teachers.org works to help you integrate technology into your classroom by offering FREE online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate and create ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars. There are also tools for student use. Discover valuable professional development resources addressing issues such as equity, ELL, technology planning, and at-risk or special-needs students." 

Thinkfinity - This is a FREE resource for teachers, but you need to register online. The partners, ArtsEdge, EconEdLink, EdSiteMent, Illuminations, Read-Write-Think, Science NetLinks, Xpeditions, and MCI Foundation, provide standards-based Internet content, teacher-reviewed lesson plans, a monthly calendar of activities, and resources for curriculum integration.

Teachers' Domain - FREE to view OR download - All you need to do is REGISTER.
"Teachers' Domain is an online library of more than 1,000 free media resources from the best in public television. These classroom resources, featuring media from NOVA, Frontline, Design Squad, American Experience, and other public broadcasting and content partners are easy to use and correlate to state and national standards.

Teachers' Domain resources include video and audio segments, Flash interactives, images, documents, lesson plans for teachers, and student-oriented activities. Once you register, you can personalize the site using "My Folders" and "My Groups" to save your favorite resources into a folder and share them with your colleagues or students.

Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) is "a virtual library that you can access from anywhere with an internet connection. TEL provides access to over 400,000 electronic resources, including magazines, scholarly journals, podcasts, videos, e-books, test preparation materials, federal census records, Tennessee primary source materials, and more. All types of not-for-profit libraries participate in TEL and benefit from the wide range of information TEL databases offer, including homework help to new readers, consumer health information, business resources, leisure reading suggestions, current event essays, academic and civil service test preparation help, and genealogy and family history sources.  Over 1.2 million searches are performed each month across the various TEL databases.  Since 1999, the Tennessee Electronic Library has been dedicated to providing equal access to this expansive collection of electronic resources for all Tennesseans. TEL is administered by the Tennessee State Library and Archives, a division of the Tennessee Department of State."

ALTEC - FREE - What is it? "You will find a combination of development and collaboration tools and resources, designed for online access, that address the problems you face daily." Some of these tools are also featured on 4Teachers.

Filamentality - FREE - What is it? "Filamentality is a fill-in-the-blank tool that guides you through picking a topic, searching the Internet, gathering good Internet links, and turning them into online learning activities. Support is built-in along the way through Mentality Tips. In the end, you'll create a web-based activity you can share with others even if you don't know anything about HTML or serving web pages." This is a great tool for creating hotlists of websites that you want your students to access, creating samplers, scavenger hunts, or webquests.

Pics4Learning - FREE - What is it? "Pics4Learning is a copyright-friendly image library for teachers and students. The Pics4Learning collection consists of thousands of images that have been donated by students, teachers, and amateur photographers. Unlike many Internet sites, permission has been granted for teachers and students to use all of the images donated to the Pics4Learning collection."
